hangup during installation soft shutdown computer not

hangup during installation; soft shutdown; computer will not

I have tried installing Vista beta2, but it would hangup, so I did a soft shutdown by pushing in the power button. When I tried to start again, the computer powers up, but does not seem to post (blank screen). I've tried clearing CMOS, but to no avail. This has happened on two motherboards now.
Asus A7M266 w/512 MB Ram Abit KT7 w/512 MB Ram Used 1400 Mhz Athlon T-Bird on both (same cpu for both)
How frustrating! I hope these motherboards aren't fried for some reason.........

That sucks.
Do you know how to reset your motherboard physically? Refer to your motherboard documentation, basically it involves changing your jumper settings to reset the motherboard.
After
that you should be able to either have antoher go at the installation OR you can just reinstall XP.
Your motherboard won't be fried, dont worry about that.

I did physically clear the motherboards, which is what I meant by clearing CMOS. I ended up taking the cpu out, and putting back in, which did the trick. Now, if I can get my network adapter to work...
